The project consists of the rehabilitation and expansion of the Bengolarra building, built in 1950 and intended for public sports facilities.
The intervention proposes the interior reform of the existing building, as well as the improvement of accessibility and energy efficiency. In addition, it contemplates the expansion of the complex with two volumes: a multipurpose room and a restaurant, connected to the existing building by means of a porch that is understood as an element of cohesion and relationship with the environment.
Windmill's mission has been to carry out the structural project, which integrates both the structural rehabilitation of the existing building, as well as the solution of the structure for the expansion of the complex.
The main objective has been to provide a structural solution for the buildings of the extension and the extensive exterior cantilevered porch, finding a balance with the interior spans and with supports hidden and integrated into the enclosures.
In addition, it also highlights the reinforcement of the existing building to house a gym room and create large openings in the walls
