On the morning of Sunday September 27 2015, after a strong downpour, lightning struck the historical chimney of the old Weger factory in Reus with strong virulence. This action led to the emergence of several large-scale cracks jeopardizing the structural stability of the historic building.

Windmill was tasked with the supervision and coordination of the technical work for the removal of the most damaged parts of the chimney and the structural design of the shaft of the same, taking into account the situation of tstructural instability caused by the lightening.

The work carried out to disemable the chimney was made more difficult due to weather conditions, geometric and constructive uncertainties, damage after the incident and the speed of execution required due o the situation leading to the eviction of inhabitants from the adjacent building.
