This project, directed by the architect Nuria Salvadó (www.nuriasalvado.com) in collaboration with the architect Pep Anglès, has involved the rehabilitation of two small industrial buildings at the same time. In addition, each of the spaces contemplated different stages of construction, as is common in buildings of a certain age. This context led to the need to face rehabilitation (and in some cases reinforcement) of various structural typologies and even foundations. Among the existing structural typologies were foundry pillars, wooden beams, latticework and even floors of cooperative sheets in some of its most primary versions.
The structural elements of the newly constructed surface, intended basically to replace the existing non-usable parts, occupy a significant area in the overall computation of the project. In these cases, the structure passes through the formation of factory made brick load walls, by the placement of profiles and frames of rolled steel, and, in the case of slabs and decks, different versions of laminated wood panels (CLT) . The CLT panels were supplied and placed by the company Egoin (www.egoin.com). In a more localized way, the colaborating florr technique was also used.
It is worth mentioning the placement of two new Vierendeel beams of more than 11 meters in span that have allowed to resolve the distance mentioned without resorting to the use of greatly edged profiles, which would have been incompatible with the availability of space that the architectural organization allowed for on any of the two levels affected.
